From a historic but very sleepy city until the 1980’s to a mecca of world tourism today; from a segregated yet organic town with its unique patina, to a place as good as the glossy pictures of a real-estate magazine with no tolerance for its lower-wealth populations, Charleston, somewhere, has misplaced its humanity.

conNECKtedTOO strongly believes that Tiny Business, in Charleston, has enough commerce and humanity left in it to lift neighborhoods, to generate a strong sense of belonging and to reclaim its untaught, silenced history.

conNECKtedTOO has two powerful tools in its toolbox: Art and Culture.

Art and Culture carry along a spirit of creativity, entrepreneurship, inventiveness, which will prove that it is not nostalgia which feeds our advocacy for small-scale enterprises but a strong sense of social and economic justice for the future. To which we add a sense of ecological equity, as we twist the title E.F. Schumacher’s book – “Small is Beautiful” – into our own motto: “Tiny is Powerful.”
